As the coordinator of the EU Horizon 2020 MSCA-ETN NEW-MINE project, KU Leuven is very happy to announce that this project obtained a record breaking score of 97,6% and has been formally granted by the European Commission. The approval of NEW-MINE (“EU Training Network for Resource Recovery through Enhanced Landfill Mining”) represents a major breakthrough as this is the first ever, full-scale H2020 R&D project on the topic of Enhanced Landfill Mining. The NEW-MINE consortium will now start the recruitment procedure for, in total, 15 new PhD students. The Recruitment Event is planned for the period August-September 2016.
Concurrently, SIM² KU Leuven also won SOCRATES (zero-waste valorisation of low-grade wastes) and COSMIC (on process intensification). Also here, 15 PhD positions are opened per project.
