The EU MSCA-ETN NEW-MINE team kindly invites you to support our research by participating to this survey on (enhanced) landfill mining. The online survey takes about 10 minutes to complete. Participants are requested to evaluate the societal impacts of landfill mining in the form of a discrete choice experiment. The results will help us to classify and clarify the relations between different societal impacts and move the scientific discussion on these issues forward. There are no right or wrong answers and all responses are strictly confidential and anonymous. Furthermore, for every completed survey we donate 1 € to a charitable organisation of your choice.
Europe has somewhere between 150,000 and 500,000 landfill sites. An estimated 90% of them are “non-sanitary” landfills. Thanks to a.o. the NEW-MINE project, this rather bleak situation present us with an exciting opportunity for a combined resource-recovery and remediation strategy.
Researchers from the NEW-MINE project developed a short survey including a discrete choice experiment on landfill mining. The survey presents a set of 8 choice sets on different landfill mining scenarios and intends to quantify the relative relations between various influential factors.
We warmly encourage you to participate in this exiting survey:
