Beyond Waste 2027

March 16, 2027 - March 18, 2027
beyond waste 2027

Recycling is a multidisciplinary field of research involving: chemistry, physics, digital technology, but also law, economics, social sciences, etc. To contribute to this important societal challenge and to propose relevant solutions, it is necessary to adopt a holistic approach, from materials to systems, from atoms to actions.

Beyond Waste 2027 is an international scientific conference, organized in Lille (France) from March 16 to 18, 2027. It will bring together experts from around the world to meet and discuss research themes related to recycling, eco-design and the circularity of materials. This event will offer parallel sessions addressing in detail topics related to materials (plastics, composite materials, strategic metals, textiles and paper-cardboard), as well as sectoral issues (D3E, new energy technologies – photovoltaics, wind power, hydrogen -, batteries and household waste) and interdisciplinary themes with the contribution of digital technology and the human and social sciences. Plenary conferences will also cover broader and general topics, relating to politics, economics or environmental issues.

Worn by the PEPR national research program “Recycling, Recyclability and Reuse of Materials”, led by the CNRS, which brings together more than 300 scientists from nearly a hundred laboratories throughout the country, Beyond Waste aims to bring together an international research network on these questions. During the three days of the congress, the objective is to bring together the scientific community around the world and to show the diversity and richness of research on recycling and the circular economy of materials, which cannot be resolved through ‘a single scientific discipline.

The call for papers for Beyond Waste 2027 is launched!
The submission deadline is 15 november 2026.
